Notes
The style of this drawing, along with his pendant Saint John and the Angel, correspond to those made around 1740-45. It is a study or a first thought for one of the monochrome frescoes of the Sagredo chapel at San Francesco della Vigna in Venice, dated by Morassi around 1743 (1962, p. 56, figs. 193-194).
